Udaipur (17th - 18th March)
With
a long bus ride from Jodhpur to Udaipur – we were ready to get off
the bus and celebrate Holi in style! With a pool party and DJ in
action, we got our Holi powders out – threw them around and began
the celebrations!
(Holi pictures to be added)

We visited a shop where artists painted various pictures and also painted nails and henna tatoos. Camel eyelashes and squirrel tail hairs are used to make their paint brushes!!

We
were lucky enough to have a free nail painting – one a Ganesh
and the other... a Karma Sutra drawing!
A
cooking class was something we definitely wanted to do while in
India, being a fan of the delicious curries here – so we did it!!
We took part in making Chai tea, Samosas, Cumin Rice, Dahl, Palak
Paneer and an eggplant curry. All dishes were delicious and the
cooking class showed that as long as you have fresh spices and
vegetables – anything is possible!

After
this meal, we enjoyed the views from the rooftop balcony – looking
right over the city of Udaipur.

We visited Jagdish temple, where a local walked around with us and told us many things we would have never known by just walking around.

At
sunset, we visited the famous Pichola Lake (Octopussy was filmed
here) and took a relaxing boat cruise around. The hilly city made
for beautiful photos.
